“My husband and I held our reception at the Grandview and with over 300 guests attending we needed a little something extra to create the club/party vibe ww were going. Our sales coordinator recommended Hourglass Lighting, and after seeing samples of other things events they’ve done at the Grandview it was a no-brainer.
For anyone wondering about cost, the difference financially between DJ uplighting and Hourglass Lighting was minimal, but the end results are incomparable!
(Having a DJ provide lighting is like having your florist take the pictures; sure they CAN do it, but it’s not their specialty.)”

How many lights will I need?
Number of lights is determined by room size and layout. Typically 20-30 of our fixtures are used. Considering our large inventory and the fact we do not charge by the light you never have to be concerned about the number of lights.
Where are lights placed, will my guests see them?
Ballroom up lights are typically placed around the perimeter of the room. Hourglass Lighting places an attractive white translucent lighting difuser in front of each lighting fixture…..your guests will never see a light only the extraordinary results.
How do your up lights compare to DJ lights?
We have a large inventory of professional quality lighting fixtures. Our LED Color Kinetic up lights are used on Broadway & Touring Rock Concerts. They are state of the art, and the Industry standard for lighting designers worldwide. These rectancular fixtures with custom spread lenses produce the full even color distribution featured on our web site. Color will not vary from fixture to fixture like inexpensive DJ lights. These are the same fixtures we used for TLC’s “Four Weddings” TV series “flicker free” for TV and Video.
Most DJ’s have a few inexpensive round lights which produce stripes of colors on the walls not even color
